Tent & Vehicle Camping at Orvis Hot Springs

Full access to the hot springs, fantastic 360-degree views and easy-going, friendly people are what you’ll find at the Orvis Hot Springs campground. No wonder our camping option is so popular with people vacationing in Colorado. We offer tent platforms as well as RV and  car camping spots, as a base for your natural hot springs experience and Ridgway area adventures.

Not only do campers get two days of hot springs soaking with each night of camping, but you get all-night access to the hot springs ponds, pool, tubs, sauna and bathrooms. More than affordable, it’s a great deal for hot springs devotees. Night owls and early risers have the great fortune of experiencing the peaceful late nights and dawns with views of Ouray County’s amazing nighttime skies and spectacular sunrises.

Daytime views are just as incredible from the campground at the edge of verdant ranching pastures, under the panorama of the Sneffels range. The Orvis Hot Springs camping area is the most convenient, cozy spot to create new connections with a relaxed, nature-loving clan, while soaking to your heart’s content.

  • To maintain privacy, the campground is limited to 30 people per night (including both tent and vehicle campers).
  • No additional guests besides those with a paid reservation and signed in may stay overnight on the property.
  • We do not allow vehicle or tent campers to pitch a tent, run their motors or generators, or play loud music after 9:00pm or before 9:00am.
  • There are no electrical, water or sewer hookups, and the maximum allowed RV length is 30 feet.

Camping Reservations & Deposits

A $20 non-refundable deposit is charged on your credit card per reservation per site, and will be applied to your camping fee when you arrive. If you don’t have a credit card and need to pay in cash, the full amount must be paid at the time of the reservation.

Camping Cancellations

If you cancel, your deposit will be forfeited. If you cancel a one-night reservation less than 48 hours prior to your reservation or don’t show, your credit card will be charged for the total number of people reserved. Please be aware that camping reservations are for a specific number of people; if you make a reservation for three and only two people show up, you will still be charged for the third person. If this is a multiple night reservation, you will be charged the first night and all other nights will be forfeited and made available to people on the stand-by list.

Walk-In Camping Registration

Unreserved camping* is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Depending on availability, registration for additional nights must be completed before 11:00am.

ORVIS POLICIES & INFORMATION

An outstanding place to visit, camp, or stay. Vehicle/tent camping in my opinion is the way to do it. There’s a locker room/showers. Fully-functional kitchen and coffee very morning. The pools are outstanding and vary in temperature and depth, to include a cold-immersion pool. The views from the springs are really really nice as well. I hope to go back some day.

Ridgway, Colorado Area Activities

And don’t forget about rafting, fishing, canyoneering, horseback rides, ghost towns, museums, skiing, snowshoeing, and ice climbing, as well as shopping, arts and entertainment.
